Every Child is Born with an Instruction Manual - A Case Study
When my daughter was born in the early 80s, my astrology teacher looked at her chart, looked at me... and quietly questioned whether I was going to survive parenthood.
That early morning, seven planets were gathered together in one extraordinary alignment. Five of them sat in my child's First House - the part of the chart that describes how someone meets the world. It spoke of a child with enormous presence, fierce determination, powerful opinions and absolutely no intention of being quietly managed.
Directly opposite those planets sat the Moon. In astrology, the Moon symbolises our emotional needs... and in a child's chart it also describes their relationship with their mother.
The message was impossible to miss. This little girl was NOT going to become the child who simply accepted, obeyed or quietly agreed with everything Mum said. If I tried to control her, we'd spend years locked in battle.
Without understanding her chart, I could easily have mistaken strength for defiance, independence for rebellion and questioning for disrespect. Instead, I knew something different.
She didn't need controlling, she needed things explaining. Everything had to be talked through. Every disagreement became a conversation. Every decision had to make sense to her. She needed to understand why, not simply be told what to do.
But because I understood the pattern she had been born with, I never made it a battle for power. I made it a relationship built on communication, honesty and trust.
Today, more than forty years later, she is my closest friend. Did astrology make that happen? No. The work still had to be done; the arguments still had to be navigated and the tears still had to be dried.
But the Child Map showed me how to parent this child instead of trying to parent without a manual.
That's the real gift. Every child arrives in the world as a complete unique entity. The Child Map isn't about predicting your child's future. It's about understanding who they already are... so you can become the parent they need you to be.
