Frequency, Awareness and Choice
This diagram often stops people in their tracks.
At first glance, it looks simple — a scale of emotions, moving from contracted states at the bottom to expanded states at the top. But its real value lies not in the labels, but in what it helps us notice.
Most of us wake up some days feeling inexplicably “off”. Nothing objectively wrong, yet everything feels harder. The mind quickly gets to work finding reasons — justifying the mood, validating the frustration, reinforcing the story.
What’s often happening in those moments isn’t circumstance — it’s frequency.
This model, adapted from the Scale of Consciousness developed by researcher Dr David Hawkins, illustrates how emotional states correlate with different levels of energy. Over time, these states form a personal vibrational set-point — the baseline from which we make decisions, interpret events, and engage with others.
At lower, more contracted frequencies (fear, guilt, grief, anger), life tends to feel effortful. We narrow our options, anticipate threat, replay the past, and brace for impact.
At higher, more expanded frequencies (courage, willingness, acceptance, reason, joy), our perspective widens. Possibility increases. Timing improves. We see choices where previously we saw traps.
This isn’t about being positive all the time — nor is it about bypassing reality.
It’s about awareness.
Einstein and Tesla both pointed to a foundational truth: everything is energy in motion. In practical terms, the energy we consistently bring into our work, relationships and decisions doesn’t stay contained — it influences what we notice, what we attract, and how we respond.
In my Life Mapping work, this diagram becomes a navigation aid.
By understanding where you are operating from — and the energetic climate you’re moving through — decisions become clearer. Some moments call for bold action. Others call for restraint. Knowing the conditions allows you to respond strategically rather than react emotionally.
Alignment, not force, is what creates momentum.
